Lufthansa
Lufthansa is the largest German airline, and also the largest airline in Europe, in terms of fleet size, and the second largest airline in terms of passengers carried. They are also the largest European operator of the Airbus A380 and were the launch customer for the Boeing 747-8. In total, the Lufthansa Group has over 600 aircraft, making it one of the largest airline fleets in the world.
Lufthansa's registered office and corporate headquarters are in Cologne, Germany. The main operations base, called Lufthansa Aviation Center, is at Lufthansa's primary hub at Frankfurt Airport, and its secondary hub is at Munich Airport. Today the Lufthansa Group is an airline group with 540 subsidiaries and associated companies operating worldwide. As of 2017, Lufthansa including Lufthansa Regional, operates flights to 18 domestic destinations within Germany and 215 international destinations across 81 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, North America, the Caribbean and South America. Our long-haul fleet includes the Boeing 747-8, the Airbus A380 and the Airbus A350-900, which are some of the most environmentally-friendly passenger aircraft in the aviation industry.
In cooperation with four other airlines, Lufthansa founded Star Alliance, the world’s largest airline alliance, in 1997 for the purpose of providing customers with better service worldwide. As one of the five founding members of the Star Alliance network, Lufthansa offers its customers numerous advantages, such as the biggest route network in the world. Lufthansa Regional provides connecting services between the European regions and also with the Lufthansa network.
Known for their premium services, Lufthansa has recently been named “Europe’s Best Airline” by Skytrax and continue to build new or upgrade existing lounge facilities across their worldwide network. Their entire long-haul fleet features all new onboard products in each class. Additionally, the entire Lufthansa long-haul fleet is equipped with onboard broadband wireless Internet service, FlyNet. The airline's aircraft have a variety of one-cabin and four-cabin configurations that can include First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class.
